Probably the best chai I've ever had. They make the chai with fresh herbs and black tea, finished off with fresh sprigs of mint. Totally different flavor than average chai.
Their coffee is also brewed per cup, and they have an amazing variety.
The line was long, but moved quickly. Lots of Stanford students here. The place was hopping.
They have two outdoor seating areas, and some limited in-property parking which was surprisingly sufficient with a short wait.
Lots of patrons brought their dogs, and could come in the line to order with them in tow.
The staff was friendly and informative.
This is exactly the coffee shop we wanted to find here! -

I've been going to Philz at various locations, including this one, for a cup here and there, a pound of beans once in a while, and they've always been fine. In fact, I love their coffee -- Jacobs and Canopy are my favorites. So naturally when my parents wanted to give coffee as gifts to international guests, I thought of Philz.
I asked for 18 half pound bags of ground coffee -- clearly these are to give out as gifts. The service was not just slow, but reluctant. There was a lot of standing around between tasks (labeled the bags, then stood around and gripe/grumble/roll my eyes to my co-workers a bit before moving on to grinding the beans, in an "is someone going to help me with all this grinding," kind of way). Also, the second person that took up label writing first stated he has terrible writing, and proceeded to write the labels while they were on the roll of labels, instead of laying them flat on a table (of course your handwriting will suck! And it did!).
It was mid-afternoon and while there were a few stragglers coming in for a cuppa, it wasn't very busy. And I didn't mind at all their serving other customers in between. That was not slowing them down - these customers were quick and easy.
6-8 minutes in, grinding commenced and I decided to go outside and stroll around because this clearly was going to take a while. After 5 minutes, I come back to check, and the work I walked in on was both slow and sloppy. The way the beans and coffee grounds were flying, you'd think they were working fast. But they weren't, it was just sloppy.
After about 25 minutes, they handed me my order. When I got home, I found a lot of loose grounds in and around the bags, and half the bags were barely closed or closed in a leaky manner. The sizes were not uniform (some clearly not the full half pound).
I love your coffee Philz, but I think I'll be getting my ground coffee from Blue Bottle or Peet's from now on, esp. if gifting. -

Fantastic service with ample parking and outdoor seating. Given the long wait time on a Saturday/ Sunday, I'd usually order via the phone app for a direct pick-up and negate the long line. However, not all coffees are available on the phone app [i.e. the Iced Rose] :-)
Recommendations would be Iced Mojito, Iced Rose and Mocha Tesora -

Although this is a coffee shop, there is not a lot of tea options. I was hoping for at least a couple options. But I had the mint mojito and requested it on the sweeter side, & to not add as much caffeine since I do not drink coffee. The caffeine in the drink was still pretty strong, & I did like the pieces of fresh mint in my drink. I would request it next time a lot sweeter & less caffeine.

I love this location of philz. It has lots of outdoor space to study and hang out. Perfect location for a date or coffee meetup. No inside space to work though.
Philz is always my favorite, the coffee is always superb and the creative drinks are hard to beat. I loveee the mint mojito but have recently liked the rose that cake out this summer as well.
